There are lots of ministries in First Cookstown and we have highlighted just some of these below. If you would like any further information about our ministries then please feel free to contact us.
Pastoral Support
We genuinely desire to get along side and encourage each other as brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, with prayerful and practical support.
If anyone should need help and support with the many difficulties that can be encountered in life, please contact Rev Michael Currie, members of Session or Friends at First.
Children and Youth Ministry
We are extremely blessed to have such a super group of children and young people in our Church family. Everyone is special, full of talent and has amazing potential. Various youth ministries are set up to help these young people grow in their faith and include Creche, Junior and Senior Sunday School, Junior Church and Youth Fellowship. We also have a variety of outreach programmes for children during school holiday times.
Marriage Preparation
The Presbytery of Tyrone provides marriage preparation classes for couples planning to get married in the near future. These classes are held in 'The Loft' which is part of our youth suite in First Cookstown. Couples come from across the Presbytery and the sessions are informative , interactive and enjoyable. For further information, please contact Rev Michael regarding future dates.
Women's Ministry
PW meet in the Morrison room on the first Monday of each month at 8pm, providing the opportunity for fellowship within the church family for women of all ages. The programme is varied, from learning about current PW Home and Away Projects, to crafts and attending invitations from neighbouring congregations.
Men's Ministry
The Men's Ministry allows men connected with the Church to come together and spend time as a group, having fellowship around an activity, hobby or game. The sessions are informal, often involve food and there is always an epilogue to strengthen our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Congregational Life
There are many opportunities to have fellowship with one another at First, ranging from regular weekly, monthly and annual events and activities.
These include Bible Study, Prayer Meetings, Bowling Club, Friends at First, Walking Club, Church Picnic and other special events.
